Seven matches of SLC Major Clubs 3-Day Tournament 2023 played today (23rd September) at several venues across the island.
The veteran left-arm spinner Malinda Pushpakumara who represents Police SC worked his magic with the ball to restrict Bloomfield C & AC to just 131 runs. He ended with brilliant figures of 6 for 64 in his 22-over spell.
Half-centuries from Lakshan Gamage, Risira Weerasuriya, Nimanda Subasinghe and Dulash Udayanga helped BRC post a solid first innings total against Galle CC.
Meanwhile, Kurunegala YCC managed to take upper hand against Ace Capital CC on day two of their encounter played today at Welagedara Stadium. Having been asked to bat first, Kurunegala YCC posted a competitive total – 257 on the board thanks to the half-centuries made by Sanoj Darshika and Damith Perera.
The left-arm spinner Wanuja Sahan Kumara was the pick of the bowlers for Ace Capital CC as he grabbed 4 wickets for 101 runs. In reply, Ace Capital batters were stuttering at 123/6 at the close of play on day two.
