After creating the biggest upset this season in pre-quarter final when they beat Super Sun SC and sealed a spot in the quarter final, the unheralded Hillary SC had to bow out of the tournament in heartbreaking manner.
From the word go they were dominated by the star studded Colombo FC. 17 minutes into the game and the boys from Mannar found themselves trailing by 4 goals. Three of them coming from Colombo FC striker AC Frank.

Hillary played with only three at the backline and the defending champions exploited this and punished their opponents, especially from the two wings, where Tuan Rizni and Bodrie Dimitri created havoc.
The fifth goal came from their playmaker Dimitri who completely outsmarted the final two defenders and guided the ball to the back of the net.
He completed his hat-trick in the next 6 minutes which put Colombo FC 7-0 in the 32nd minute.
Hillary had no clue as to how they can stop the scoring. They left men like Bodri Dmitri, AC Frank and Dhanushka Madushanka unmarked inside the penalty box which gave these star players to score with ease.
After the 8th goal there was a quiet passage of play where Hillary packed their back line with five players which was little too late.
Hillary’s offensive play was also getting better in the second half but they just couldn’t find the finishing touches they needed in the second half.
Madushanka completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute thanks to a brilliant cross by Bodri Dimitri.
Dimitri went on to score his second hat-trick of the match in the second half. His speed, strength and skills was just too much to handle for the boys from Mannar and he was not done yet.
Colombo FC scored two more goals including a penalty by Mohamed Rizni and the other by Ahamed Shazny.
However Dimitri ended the match with another goal which took his tally up to 7 goals and not to forget the 3 assists in the match.
The only good thing Hillary could take back home was the sole goal they scored in the 86th minute. S Jesudasan finding the back of the net through a well taken corner by J Livinton.
Losing in this manner is not easy to fathom but they should take heart from what they achieved this season and come back stronger next year.
For the defending champions, they made their presence felt in the top 4 and all the other teams will be aware of what they are capable of.

ThePapare.com Man of the Match: Bodrie Dimitri (Colombo FC)
Bodrie Dimitri speaking to ThePapare.com;
We took this match very seriously since this team beat Super Sun in pre-quarter. We knew we had to play well to win. The performance we put up was really good and I’m happy with it. I wouldn’t say this was my best performance in my career but I’m really happy with my contribution to the team.
