Leg spinner Aravinda Akurugoda’s 7/14 and Pathum Madushanka’s 103* helped Joes beat De Mazenod on first innings, Shehan & Tuan powered Zahira to first innings win while DS and Maris Stella also won on first innings.
Winning the toss and batting first proved to be costly as Aravinda and the rest of the Joes bowlers powered through the De Mazenod batting to restrict them to a low 124 all out in their first innings.
Joes themselves found batting tough but a well constructed century from captain Pathum Madushanka 103* helped them record a first innings win over De Mazenod at Kandana. Joes declared their innings on 171 for 6 in 39 overs as Rukshan Fernando and Akash Senarathne both took two wickets each for the home team.
Batting in their second innings De Mazenod could only manage 18 for the loss of 2 wickets as rain cut the game short on day 2.

Tuan Safran’s 92 with bat and 3 for with the ball helped Zahira power passed Anuradhapura Central in Maradana Zahira College grounds.
Winnings the toss and batting first in home conditions, Zahira College posted a massive 344 for the loss of 4 wickets. Tuan top scored with 92 from 120 balls while Shehan scored a brilliant 91 from 75 balls.
