A 7-a-side football tournament was held on the 29th of May 2016 at the Madinnagoda grounds. This was an open competition limited to 16 teams. The tournament was carried out on a knock-out basis with each match being limited to 20 minutes.
Sarasavi A registered a convincing victory at the 7-a-side football tournament final with a score of 3-1 against Obeysekarapura S.C
In the semifinals it came down to Sarasavi A and Nimsira 7 while Obeysekarapura S.C took on Sarasavi B; Sarasavi A and Obeysekarapura S.C qualified to the finals with comfortable wins.

In the finals, Sarasavi A were too strong with both defense and attack. They were triumphant despite the good goalkeeping by Obeysekarapura’s goalkeeper. Sarasavi A achieved a comfortable victory with the final score being 3-1.
