Mahanama College, Colombo were crowned champions of the Under-19 Division 1 Tier ‘A’ Limited Overs Tournament 2025/26 after a comfortable victory over Richmond College, Galle in the final played today (3rd November) at Surrey Village Grounds, Maggona.
After winning the toss, Richmond College elected to bat first, but their plan backfired as they were bowled out for a modest total of 109 runs.

Risinu Rupasinha provided some resistance with a fighting 41-run knock, but it wasn’t enough to lift the innings. For Mahanama College, Venura Kaveethra, Chamika Heenatigala, Dulnith Sigera, and Gimantha Dissanayake were all instrumental with the ball, picking up 2 wickets apiece to keep the opposition in check.
Chasing a modest target, Mahanama College cruised to victory in just 19.5 overs with 4 wickets in hand. The opening pair of Sineth Veerarathne and Dulnith Sigera laid a solid foundation with scores of 30 and 22 respectively, setting the tone for a comfortable run-chase.

Nethsara Akash was the standout bowler for Richmond College, finishing with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 28 runs.
