St. Anne’s College, Kurunegala booked their place in the final of the Under-19 Division 1 Tier ‘B’ Limited Overs Tournament 2025/26 with a hard-fought victory over Devapathiraja College, Rathgama in the semi-final encounter played today (2nd November) at Salawa Army Camp Grounds, Kosgama.
Having been asked to bat first, Devapathiraja College put up a competitive total of 247 for 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The innings was built around solid contributions from Sandaru Malshan (55), Yasiru Lakshan (48) and Gimhan Rasanjana (47), who ensured a steady flow of runs throughout the innings.

For St. Anne’s College, Nesad Weerasekara stood out with the ball, claiming 3 crucial wickets for 28 runs, while others kept things tight to prevent a late acceleration.
In reply, St. Anne’s College faced a stern challenge from the Devapathiraja bowlers but displayed great composure under pressure. The chase went down to the final over, where the Kurunegala lads held their nerve to clinch victory with three wickets in hand.
Sanuja Dissanayake led the charge with an unbeaten 67, while Dinuga Abeysekara provided excellent support with a vital 65-run knock, guiding their team to a memorable win and a well-deserved place in the tournament final.
