Negombo Cricket Club chased the leather all day at Moors Ground as the hosts racked up a mindboggling 509 on day 01.
The run-fest was led by all-rounder Ramesh Mendis, who raced on to his maiden double century. The 24 year-old was well assisted by veteran Sachithra Sereasinghe, who orchestrated a masterful 149, guiding Moors past 500.
Ramesh Mendis was unbeaten on 205 at stumps and Saad Nadim picked up 3 wickets for Negombo CC at a cost of 155 runs.
