Pakistan Women defeated Sri Lanka Women by four wickets in the third and final T20I of the three-match series played today (4th August) at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. Despite the defeat, Sri Lanka secured the series 2-1 after winning the opening two matches.

After being asked to bat first, Sri Lanka struggled to build momentum and were restricted to 113 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Chamari Athapaththu led the scoring with 34 runs off 33 deliveries, striking five boundaries.

Momina Riasat was the standout performer with the ball for Pakistan, returning impressive figures of 2 for 18 from her four-over spell. She was well supported by the rest of the bowling unit, who maintained tight lines and prevented Sri Lanka from posting a competitive total.

In reply, Pakistan reached the target in the 19th over with four wickets to spare. Ayesha Zafar anchored the chase with a composed 39 off 31 balls, including six boundaries, while the middle order ensured the visitors crossed the finish line despite a few late setbacks.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers fought hard to defend the modest total, with Athapaththu and off-spinner Kaveesha Dilhari picking up two wickets apiece.
