The second week’s matches of the National Super League 4-Day Tournament 2024 ended today (28th January) at Pallekele and Hambantota.

Team Dambulla claimed first innings points in the drawn encounter against Team Colombo at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

After being 388/7 at stumps on Day 3, Team Colombo added 57 more runs in the morning session of the fourth and final day to the total as they made 445 runs for their first innings in response to Team Dambulla’s mammoth total of 530.

Team Dambulla began their second innings 85 runs ahead and posted 210 runs for 8 wickets, with Sonal Dinusha contributing with a fine century. Dinusha hit an unbeaten 100 runs off 160 balls with 11 fours. Kasun Rajitha and Prabath Jayasuriya impressed with the ball for Team Colombo, scalping 3 wickets each.

Team Jaffna registered a convincing win over Team Kandy at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. Chasing 394 runs to win, Team Kandy were knocked over for 229 as left-arm spinner Shashika Dulshan produced a match-winning spell for Team Jaffna.

Dulshan picked up 6 wickets for 99 runs, while Ravindu Fernando scalped 3 wickets for 77 runs. Kandy middle order batter Ahan Wickramasinghe put up a lone fight in the run-chase, scoring an unbeaten 116 runs off 86 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes.
