Movin Subasinghe stroked a classy 97 as Wesley College posted 202 in the opening day of the Singer-Cup Group B encounter against Isipathana College which began at Colts grounds.

Being asked to bat the visitors made a formidable 202 in 57 overs. Right-handed batsman Movin Subasinghe steadied the ship for the lads from Campbell Park with a blistering 97, while Lisula Vinath and Lahiru Dilshan picked up 3 wickets a piece for the home team.

In response stylish left-hander Heshan Fernando made 47 valuable runs as Isipathana College ended the first day at 133 for 4 wickets.

The visitors batting first were dismissed cheaply for 114 as Lasitha Udage picked up a five wicket haul. In reply the host were cruising along at 184 for 7 as Sandaru Shriyasantha made a solid 41 with the bat, while Sanka Madhubashana grabbed 4 scalps for the visitors.
