Jaffna Stallions released a new logo which captures the global origins of the team on 21st of November 2020.
The newly joined co-owner of the franchise, Rahul Sood, is said to have worked closely with the staff who created the new logo, read a media release by the franchise.
“Rahul’s innovation and forward thinking in sport and building international brands is invaluable,” said Mr. Anandan Arnold, Chief Strategy Officer of Jaffna Stallions. “Our reach is global, with fans, players and management across multiple continents, yet we are authentically Sri Lankan and proud to represent the city of Jaffna – we can’t wait for fans around the world to represent the Jaffna Stallions proudly.”
Mr. Sood had earlier shared his thoughts on joining the franchise with a Canadian news agency. “It’s unbelievable how many fans of Cricket there are there,” Mr. Sood said in the interview. “And when I saw that Sri Lanka’s launching its own league, the Lanka Premier League, I couldn’t believe it. I mean this is like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
