“There is a bright a chance that India will be travelling to Sri Lanka after women’s IPL for an ODI and T20 series,” a senior BCCI source told PTI. “Obviously, quarantine duration is an issue as we saw that the Bangladesh men’s team’s tour was postponed. However, we are very hopeful that our women’s team will be playing Lanka,” the official further added.

Sri Lanka’s strict rule of 14-days quarantine after arrival in the island cost them the proposed Bangladesh Men’s tour which was scheduled to occur in October. It could be a major concern for this Women’s series as well.

India Women’s cricketers are also set to play Women’s T20 challenge in the first week of November in Dubai parallel to the Indian Premier League’s playoff phase. Only 2 Sri Lankan players, Chamari Atapattu and Shashikala Siriwardene, will be participating in that tournament.

If this limited over tour takes place, it could be the only International cricket tournament to look forward to (Men’s or Women’s) featuring Sri Lanka in 2020.
