Dilruwan Perera became the first Sri Lankan to achieve the unique double of 7000 runs and 700 wickets when he led Colts to an emphatic outright win, as six matches of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Major League concluded today(14).

Tamil Union vs Chilaw Marians

Chilaw Marians continued their dominance in the tournament when they came from behind to beat Tamil Union by 6 wickets. In the process they also booked their place in the super 8s of the tournament and have alteady topped group B with one game to go.

The architect of their win once again was Malinda Pushpakumara who captured four wickets to reduce Tamil Union to 197 before Oshada Fernando and Shehan Jayasuriya hit half centuries in their run chase of 207.

Chanaka Komasaru who reached a grand milestone of 500 first class wickets, brought back Ports Authority into the game with his second innings 7- wicket haul. 

Ishan Rangana hit a vital half century in a tricky run chase of 220, as Ports completed a four wicket win to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for the super 8s of the tournament.

Colts vs Saracens 

It was all about Sri Lanka’s star all-rounder Dilruwan Perera as Colts recorded a crushing 226 run win over a hapless Saracens SC unit.

Dilruwan captured 5/46 to bowl out Saracens for 145 while in the process becoming the first Sri Lankan ever to achieve the unique feat of 7000 runs and 700 runs in first class cricket.
