Colombo North clinched the U19 SLC Youth League 2025 title with a convincing 5-wicket victory over Colombo South in a thrilling final.
Having been asked to bat first, Colombo South posted 232 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs at Samadhi Grounds, Anuradhapura.

The opening batter Suwahas Fernando led with a stylish 80 off 123 balls, including 6 fours and a six, while Rehan Peiris contributed a brisk 53 off 69 balls with 7 fours.
Poorna Kalhara and Manasa Madubashana shone with the ball, each claiming 2 wickets to lead Colombo North’s bowling attack.
Colombo North chased the target in 40.5 overs, winning by 5 wickets, led by a century opening stand from Dulnith Sigera and Aveesha Samash.

Sigera smashed 68 off 60 balls, including 11 fours and a six, while Samash scored 45 off 57 balls with 4 fours and a six. Senuja Wekunagoda’s vital 41 anchored the innings.
