Club Cricket Summary – SL Ports Authority hit back to gain first-innings lead

The league-title deciding match between Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club and Nondescript Cricket Club took a new turn as the former gained the first-innings lead after an impressive bowling performance at the end of day two in the final round of matches in the SLC Premier League Tournament – Super Eight stage being played in Colombo. 

NCC vs SL Ports Authority

The left-arm spin and pace combination of Chaminda Bandara, Malinda Pushpakumara and Isuru Udana shared seven wickets between them to bowl out NCC for 214 at P. Sara stadium.

NCC started day two on 78 for 1 but their middle order failed to capitalize the good batting conditions. SL Ports now lead the game by 68 runs with 10 wickets yet to fall. 

SL Ports 243 in 64.3 overs: Dhananjaya De Silva 64, Ashan Priyanjan 52, Isuru Udana 40, Mahela Udawatte 29, Tharindu Kaushal 5/51, Sohan Boralessa 4/63.

SL Ports (2nd inn) – 39 for no loss in 14 overs: Dhananjaya De Silva 27*.

 

SL Army vs Bloomfield

Asela Gunaratne cracked a masterful century inclusive of 15 boundaries as the Soldiers took the first-innings points against Bloomfield at Moors grounds. 

Bloomfield – 189 all out in 41.5 overs: Ashen Silva 60, Lakshan Madushanka 3/27, Ajantha Mendis 3/63, Seekuge Prasanna 2/62.

SL Army – 335 all out in 90.1 overs: Asela Gunaratne 136, Sanjika Ridma 67, Lakshitha Madushan 60, Chathura Randunu 5/108, Nuwan Pradeep 3/71. 

Bloomfield (2nd inn) – 34/1 in 5.4 overs: Primosh Perera 23*.

 

Moors vs Tamil Union

Pabasara Waduge and Rumesh Buddhika stroked elegant tons as Tamil Union closed down near the Moors first innings score at CCC grounds. 

Moors – 315 all out in 85.5 overs: Oshada Fernando 93, Denuwan Rajakaruna 44, Ramith Rambukwella 5/41, Devin Pathmanathan 4/96.

Tamil Union – 299/8 in 68 overs: Pabasara Waduge 111, Rumesh Buddika 106, Chathuranga De Silva 3/67, Dilhara Lokuhettige 2/36.

 

CCC vs Badureliya

Left-arm Chinamen spinner Lakshan Sandaken grabbed a five-wicket haul as he tangled the Badureliya batsmen at R. Premadasa Stadium.

CCC – 297 all out in 94.5 overs: Maduka Liyanapathirana 92, Hashan Duminda 62, Gayan Sirisoma 3/76, Mohomad Dilshad 3/74, Charitha Buddika 2/28.
