Two matches of the Premier Super 8s ended inside three days while the other matches of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Premier Super 8s and Plate Championship continued around the island.

Moors vs Badureliya

Salinda Ushan and Nadeera Nawela were unfortunate to miss out on centuries but they made sure to put Badureliya in a strong position when play was halted on day two due to bad light.

Gayan Maneeshan hit his 8th first class century as Ports Authority stamped their Authority in their match against Ragama CC.

SLPA made 485/9 declared after Ragama CC made 269 all-out in their first innings. Maneeshan’s century was an innings to remember while Gihan Rupasinghe, Yohan De Silva, Nick Compton and Charith Jayampathi made half centuries.

Minod Bhanuka’s century made sure SSC secured a 347 run lead when stumps were drawn on day three.

Shehan Jayasuriya led a tricky run chase of 233 as Chilaw got home by 4 wickets with a day to spare against Colts after trailing in the first innings.

Jayasuriya who hit a half century in the first innings, was unlucky to be dismissed on 95, while Kasun Vidura made a vital half century.

The Tamil Union top order came good along with an unlikely hero, as heir night watchman Binura Fernando made 82 opening the batting. Dinuk Wickramanayake and Sithara Gimhan made half centuries as well while Tharanga Paranavithana made an unbeaten 68*.

Malith De Silva and Koshan Dhanushka shared five wickets between them for Bloomfield.

BRC vs Saracens

BRC turned things around dramatically to secure a 84 run outright win over Saracens SC. Minhaj Jaleel made a courageous unbeaten 90* for Saracens but that wasn’t enough to prevent his team from going down to a spirited BRC outfit.

Army made a grand comeback with their season on the line, as CCC ended the day on 56/7 with Seekuge Prasanna running through the CCC batting line up capturing four wickets.

Army SC were bowled for 265 earlier in the day, handing a 68 run first innings lead to CCC before they hit back with the late wickets. Dushan Vimukthi also added two wickets to his five wicket haul from the first innings , as CCC were ahead by 124 runs with 3 wickets in hand.
