Bradby in a new Dimension

The Royal College Union is planning to organize the first BRADBY FIESTA to be held adjacent to the main event at the Bloomfield C&AC Colombo from 10 a.m to 12 midnight on the 10th of May 2014.

The blue ribbon rugby event in Sri Lanka is around the corner as the lads from the hill country journey to Colombo for the first leg of the 70th Bradby Shield encounter on the 10th of May to be played at the Royal College Sports complex. This year apart from thrills and pageantry seen at the venue of the grounds the Royal College union(RCU) is to initiate a totally different spectacle with carnival atmosphere and live stream of the game etc which is to take place at the Bloomfield C & AC Colombo right next to the Sports Complex.

The main motive of the event is to further the camaraderie between the two institutions while  providing an opportunity to a larger number of persons who are unable to get into the venue to watch the match and also for those who wish to watch the match in a different environment . The BIG game will be telecasted on massive LED screens strategically placed at the Bloomfield grounds so as to make sure that everyone gets a chance to catch the action unraveling.

As the train and bus loads of Trinitians will be welcomed to Colombo by their Royal brethren, this festive atmosphere will no doubt providee an opportunity for friends to meet and take a trip down memory lane to talk about their hay days.

The Organizing committee headed by Mr. Rizan Nazeer has taken steps to make certain that all facilities will be provided for those attending the Bradby Fiesta with features such as food stalls from 5-star hotels, car shows, fireworks displays, and kids area for the little ones, a game arcade, fashion shows, face painting, a horror house and music varying from DJ’s to live bands and to the much loved Sri Lankan papare bands.

The BRADBY FIESTA will no doubt be a “fiesta” of a kind and it will definitely be one to look forward to. As the young men shed blood sweat and tears for the crest on their jersey, proud old boys and supporters would be cheering them on not far away from the actual venue when it’s that time of the year when the streets turn Blue and Gold and  Blue, Yellow and Red.
