Navod Paranavithana starred with both bat and ball for the hosts, but it wasn’t sufficient as Sri Lanka U19s went down by a whisker on the Duckworth-Lewis method against  Bangladesh U19s on Thursday (01).

Overnight rain meant the game was already reduced to a 43 over affair, as Sri Lanka surprisingly won the toss and batted first with gloomy skies around at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.

Sri Lanka U19s still put up a respectable 192/9 in their allotted 43 overs, with Paranavithana – who has impressed throughout the tour – the star with the bat once again.

Navod Paranavithana had Bangladesh in all sorts defending 192 as him and Ashian Daniel captured two wickets apiece to get Sri Lanka ahead on Duckworth-Lewis.
