Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Kapila Wijegunawardena has been appointed as the chairman of new cricket selection committee.
Minister of Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, acting under the provisions of the Sports Law and Extraordinary Gazette regulations, approved the appointment of a five-member cricket selection committee as part of the latest restructuring process at Sri Lanka Cricket.
Alongside Wijegunawardena, former Sri Lanka cricketers Amal Silva, Brendon Kuruppu, Waruna Waragoda, and Vanessa De Silva have been appointed as members of the committee.
The previous selection panel was headed by Pramodya Wickramasinghe prior to the latest restructuring process at Sri Lanka Cricket.
