The 2nd edition of the Dharmadasa Brothers Tag Rugby 7’s is scheduled to be held on the 16th of October 2016 at the CR and FC Grounds.
The event was initiated by the Nehusha Sadeva Avendra Dharmadasa Trust Fund in memory of Sadeva Dharmadasa and Avendra Dharmadasa who were fine products of S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia. The pair represented College in Rugby in the years 2005 -2007 and 2009 – 2010 respectively.
This year’s edition of the tournament will see 16 teams battling it out for the Dharmadasa Memorial Trophy. Each team will be allowed a total of 10 players and a maximum of 4 professional (Club) players and only field 2 of them at any given time.
The tournament will kickoff at 9a.m. The day promises to be a fun filled one and spectators will be able to see some great Rugby dished out, as all proceeds from the tournament will be utilized by the Nehusha Sadeva Avendra Dharmadasa Trust Fund towards charitable causes.
