3DH International ‘A’ emerged champions of the MCA Premier League 2023 (Division B) as they defeated MAS Unichela by 8 wickets (DLS Method) in the Final of the tournament, played today (6th June) at the MCA Grounds.
After been put into bat first, MAS Unichela were restricted to just 150 runs in 40.3 overs as Miranga Wickramage ripped through their batting lineup, claiming 5 wickets for 25 runs.
The spinners Ashian Daniel and Sachindu Colombage also starred with the ball, taking 2 scalps each for 3DH International.
In the second half of the game, the rain halted the play. As a result of the rain break, 3DH International were set a revised target of 135 runs in 37 overs.
It was a walk in the park win for 3DH International as they cruised to target in 23.1 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Lohan de Zoysa played a match-winning knock of 69 runs off 64 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes, helping his side register a convincing win.
