Former Sri Lanka national captain Yoshitha Rajapakse will lead the up and coming CH & FC team for the  Dialog Rugby League 2018/19 that will kick off in November this year.

CH & FC surged back to life last season with a revamped outfit, making progress after two seasons at the bottom of the table. The team led by Rohitha Rajapakse finished 4th overall but exhibited a commendable brand of rugby.

A key player in last year’s team, Yoshitha Rajapakse was an integral part of the team’s success, playing as a flanker and he will have a whole new team to give leadership to this year with CH lobbying the best of transfers in the season.

A product of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia, Yoshitha represented Navy Sports Club soon after his schooling career and later went on to represent the national side in the fifteens. In 2013, he gave leadership to one of the successful XV’s sides in the recent past as Sri Lanka clinched the Asia Division I Rugby Championship that was played in Colombo.

The Maitland Place side will now have the services of Hirantha Perera, Nishon Perera and Sudam Sooriyarachchi, who found their way from Havelock Park, and will look to form a good partnership with Lee Keegal & Sudarshana Muthuthanthri.

The CH & FC team went on to clinch the Dialog Inter Club 7’s overall title and that should enliven the spirits of the Maitland Club ahead of the fifteens season.
