Two Ranasinghes’ steer St Sebastian’s to victory

Dharamaraja College vs St. Aloysius College Galle 

St. Aloysius College claimed first innings points in their group C encounter against Dharmaraja College today at Dharmaraja College grounds. The boys from down south resumed play in dire straight at 48 for 5. A stubborn partnership between Kavindu Dilhara and Ravindu Kanchana resurrected their innings in the morning session.

Dilhara top scored with a gritty half century as they posted 168 runs all out for their first innings. Sahan Siriwardane was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts with a five-for. In reply at stumps, Dharamaraja College was 54 for 2.

St. Sebastian’s College vs St. Servatius College 

St. Sebastian’s College registered an easy win by 9 wickets in their group C match against St Servatius College at Moratuwa today. On the resumption of the second day, the visitors were following on with 2 runs on board without any wickets lost.

They showed grit in the second innings but the St Sebastian’s College bowlers kept at it until they finally bowled them out for 139 runs. The home side were made to toil hard for 66.4 overs by the visitors. Keshara Nuwantha top scored with 50 while Minuja Ranasinghe picked up 4 for 42 for the hosts.

St. Sebastian’s College came on to bat with just 5 runs to get to victory. They did so in the very first over with 9 wickets in hand.
