Kanrich Finance kept their winning streak alive as they beat HNB by 5 wickets at BRC Grounds today. They won the toss and elected to field first. Chandula Weeraratne and All-rounder Tharushan Iddamalgoda were the chief destroyers with the ball in hand as HNB succumbed to a solitary 150 runs. Madawa Warnapura top scored with 43 runs while Chandula got his first five-for of the season.

In response, Kanrich lost few wickets up front. It was that man once again, Raveen Sayer who steered the ship for his side. His unbeaten knock of 63 got Kanrich over the line with five wickets in hand and more than 12 overs to spare.

JKH registered their second straight win beating Commercial Credit B by 4 wickets at Panagoda today. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, CC only managed to post a modest 194 runs before they were bundled out in the 47th over. Sandaken Pathirana top scored with 69 while Tharindu Rathnayake was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 50.

In response, JKH took their time but made sure they didn’t let it slip away. Former Josephian skipper and Air Force player Roscoe Thattil and the experienced Malinga Amarasinghe got them closer to the target with half centuries and the latter remained unbeaten to see off the chase with 4 wickets in hand.

Uniliver Sri Lanka v Citizen Development bank

CDB won a nail biter against Uniliver Sri Lanka to register their first win for the season by 1 wicket today at the MCA Grounds. It was CDB who won the toss and elected to field first. Their discipline in bowling helped them restrict Uniliver for just 159 runs. Former Peterite all-rounder Savin Gunasekara was the chief destroyer with 3 for 24 while Chandima Bandara and Imran Khan took 2 wickets each.

The chase wasn’t all that easy for the bankers. Gihan De Soyza and Gayan Rupasinghe tightened the screws in the CDB innings that caused a collapse which put them in dire straits at 6 for 64. It was the lower middle order which got them back in line with Dinushka Malan and Savin Gunasekara scoring 34 and 29 respectively. Shaluka Silva also chipped in with 28 but he got out in the last ball of the penultimate over leaving only 1 run to victory. In the final over, Chandima Bandara sneaked a single in the third ball to seal the victory for CDB.
