Zahira College, Maradana and Mahajana College, Jaffna won the Samaposha All Island U15 Boys and Girls Championships respectively.
In the boys’ final Zahira defeated Kinniya Maha Vidyalaya 2-1 while in the girls’ final Mahajana College defeated Kaviseegamuwa Gamini Maha Vidyalaya with the same score-line to win the championships.
The first goal for Zahira was an own goal while the second came from a penalty.
St.Joseph’s College Anuradhapura won third place and Al Humeshara from Beruwala won 4th place in the boys’ segment.
Best Player was Saajith Naufer and the best goalkeeper was Mohamed Shakeer; both of whom were from Zahira College.
This was the first time in 38 years that Mahajana College, Jaffna has won the All Island U15 Girls’ Championship.
Shiva Nagar Tamil Girls’ School and Pallekanugala Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalle won 3rd and 4th place respectively in the Girls’ segment.
Heshani Saumya Jayasuriya of Kaviseegamuwa Gamini Maha Vidyalaya was named as the best goalkeeper while the best player award went to K.Archika of Mahajana College, Jaffna.
