Sri Lanka Women U19 registered a thrilling 8-run victory over England Women U19 in their Tri-Series T20 encounter played in Australia.

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat first and produced a competitive total of 136 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by opening batter Sanjana Kavindi, who played a superb knock of 45 runs off 33 deliveries, striking 5 fours and 2 sixes.

In reply, England Women U19 fought hard in the run chase but were restricted to 128 runs, finishing 8 runs short of the target.

Sri Lanka’s bowlers, particularly the spin attack, played a decisive role in defending the total. The spin duo of Limansa Thilakarathne and Chamodi Praboda dismantled the England batting lineup with excellent spells, claiming 3 wickets each.
