Under-19 Cricket : Thurstan rout Wesley

Left arm spinner Navin Gunawardena bagged eight wickets including a five wicket haul as Thurstan College registed a thumping innings and ten runs victory over Wesley College in their Under-19 match at Thurstan College Ground in Colombo on Friday.

The former Siri Piyaratana College, Padukka spinner picked up five wickets to rattle the visitors’ batting line up for 54 runs. Wesley were 20 for two wickets overnight.

It was Thurstan’s second outright victory of the season in four outings.

The match between Holy Cross College and St. Aloysius’ College ended in a no decision as rain hampered the second day’s play when St. Aloysius’ were 98 for three wickets in reply to home team’s 100 runs at Surrey Village Ground in Maggona on Friday.
