T20 Blind Cricket WC: Sri Lanka in a 16-run-win

The visually impaired Sri Lankan Cricket Team recorded their fourth straight victory as they beat England, at the inaugural Blind Cricket Twenty20 World Cup, worked off in Bangalore, yesterday (5). 

Batting first, Sri Lanka set off for a total of 202, with the loss of six wickets at the end of 20 overs. 

For Sri Lanka, Chandana Kumara made 65 runs off 52 balls, which included six boundaries. He was supported by a fast 34 run inning which came from DimuthuRavindra’s bat. 

A well composed and undefeated 69 runs which came off ChandanaDeshapriya’s inning of 32 balls, added much spice to the match as he scored 12 fours and 1 six. 

Chasing a target of 203 runs,the English men were able to score only 186 runs, losing six wickets at the end of 20 overs. 

For Sri Lanka, Dinesh Mathugama and Vice-captain RuwanKarunathilake bowled commendable bowling spells, adding more pressure on the English batsmen.
