The two day under 12 rugby carnival drew to a successful end today (August 2nd) as a total of 80 teams from 41 schools participated.
The tournament took place at the Racecourse International Stadium as all schools was rewarded for participation.
Day one consisted of a total of 130 game as as teams was divided into 22 groups and played on 5 mini pitches while a total of 25 referee’s officiated throughout the two days.
The tournament was played in the league format on both days as no winners were awarded however each team received tokens of appreciation for their participation.
Day two saw 72 teams further being divided into 3 teams of 24 groups play on 4 mini pitches as the tournament headed into the final day with the action heating up.
DS Senanayaka College – A, Wesley College -A, Royal College – A, St. Peter’s College – A, Prince of Wales College, St. Peter’s College – D and S.De.S. Jayasinghe – A topped their respective groups in the games played in pitch A.
