Team Dambulla crowned champions of the inaugural U23 Women’s National Super League T20 Tournament 2024.

In the final encounter played today (26th May) at Galle International Cricket Stadium, Team Dambulla beat Team Colombo by 4 wickets to clinch the championship.

After being put into bat first, Colombo posted 98 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Opening batter Shikari de Silva was the top scorer, making 25 runs off 29 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Vidushika Perera stood out with the ball for Dambulla, claiming 3 wickets for 24 runs in her 4-over spell. Harini Perera also grabbed 2 wickets for 12 runs.

Dambulla chased down the target in the 19th over with 4 wickets in hand. Vimoksha Balasooriya, who made 27 runs off 22 balls, and Limmy Thilakarathne, who made 21 runs off 25 balls, played crucial roles in guiding Dambulla to the title.

Hashini Liyanage was the pick of the bowlers for Colombo, grabbing 3 wickets for 20 runs. Tharushi Thathsarani also bowled an impressive spell, scalping 2 wickets for 20 runs.
