U23 Cricket – SL Ports Authority crush SL Air Force inside two days

Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club defeated Sri Lanka Air Force Sports Club with a day to spare in the SLC under 23 division one tournament match which concluded on Saturday. 

 

SL Ports vs SL Air Force

SL Ports’ all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga’s excellent bowling spell ensured he was the main reason for their 7-wicket win over the Airmen at Katunayake. 

Ports Authority first innings was limited to only 218 as Wanindu top-scored with a fine 80. The Airmen faltered badly in their second innings as they were bowled out for just 169 runs. Wanindu took 5 wickets for 27 runs. 

Air Force – 116 all out in 48 overs: Avishka Rathnayake 33*, Lahiru Kumara 30, Wanidu Hasaranga 3/18, Damitha Silva 5/43.  

Ports Authority – 218 in 48 overs: Wanidu Hasaranga 80, Lasindu Nimsara 29, Sasindu Alwis 25, Gayashan Silva 4/47, Sachika Udara 3/70.

Air Force (2nd inn) – 169 all out in 52.5 overs: Charith Gunathilaka 43, Avishka Rathnayake 28, Wanidu Hasaranga 5/27, Damitha Silva 2/47.

Ports Authority (2nd inn) – 68/3 in 13.4 overs: Yohan CHanuka 32*. 

 

Ragama vs CCC

Hard-hitting left-handed opening batsman Jason Perera made his highest individual score of 240 to lead Ragama first innings score to 499 against CCC at Maitland Crescent. 

Resuming from his overnight score of 158, Jason mustered his first double-century to pummel the CCC bowlers before they declared their innings just one run short of 500. 

CCC in their reply was all at sea as left-arm spinner Sahan Nanayakkara and seamer Janith Liyanage shared 7 wickets. 

Ragama – 499/7 in 126 overs: Jason Perera 240, Shaminda Fernando 74, Janith Liyanage 76, Supeshala Jayathilaka 41, Shaluka Silva 3/121, Yashan Samarasinghe 2/48.

CCC – 187/8 in 52 overs: Hashan Dumindu 37, Geshan Wimaladharma 31, Sahan Nanayakkara 4/70, Janith Liyanage 3/29. 

 

Moratuwa vs SSC

Defending Champions, SSC are trailing by 306 runs against Moratuwa at stumps on day 2 at SSC grounds. 

The hosts’ were bowled out for just 142 with Ramesh Mendis and Kavindu Kulasekara scoring 29 and 27 respectively. Former Sebastanite skipper Anushka Perera excelled with the bat for Moratuwa in their second innings as he made a fighting 72. 

Moratuwa SC – 249 all out in 67.2 overs: Thilan Nimesh 56, Nipuna Gamage 40, Aftab Cader 4/50, Sanka Ramesh 2/30, Ramindu Kumarasinghe 2/33.
