Ananda College recorded a massive 125-run victory over Dharmasoka College. Seven other games were also played today in the ongoing U19 Schools Cricket Tournament 2021/2022.
The right-handed aggressor from Ananda College, Nushal Dharmarathna, unleashed a beast of a knock in today’s games, scoring a fiery 174 runs to win the game for his team. This records the highest individual score of the tournament so far by a huge margin.
He was well supported by the stylish Nethma Karunaratne, who struck an unbeaten century. The pair helped Ananda post a mammoth total of 377 runs.
On the other end of the spectrum, Sadeepa Rathnayaka of Dharmaraja College, Kandy, was the star with the ball. The right-arm speedster bagged 6 wickets for 37 runs, but his efforts went in vain as his school lost the game against Dharmapala College.
The Kurunegala boy Kalindu Wijesinghe bagged five wickets to trouble the D.S. Senanayake College batters, as St. Anne’s College won by 6 wickets.
