Three traditional encounters of the U19 Division 1 Schools Cricket Tournament worked off today (15th February) at several venues.
St, Joseph’s College’s Sadeesha Jayawardena smashed a double century against Maliyadeva College in their drawn traditional encounter, worked off at Darley Road. Jayawardena scored an unbeaten 207 runs off 234 balls with 24 fours and 2 sixes at an impressive strike rate of 88.46.
It is the 2nd highest individual score for St. Joseph’s College, and records as the highest individual score at St. Joseph’s College Grounds.
Richmond College managed to take honors against Prince of Wales College in their drawn encounter, worked off today at De Soysa International Cricket Stadium. Malsha Tharupathi had a tremendous outing with the ball for Richmond College taking a match bag of 11 wickets for 100 runs including a 9-wicket haul in the first innings.
Shane Adithya stood out with the bat for Maris Stella College scoring 159 runs against St. Aloysius College in their traditional encounter played at Aluthgama Esplanade Grounds.
