Seven 2-day matches in the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament were held today (24th February), at several locations.
A traditional match between Dharmapala College & Nalanda College commenced today at Dharmapala College Grounds in Pannipitiya.
Dharmapala College were bowled out for 144 runs, with Kavindu Primal scoring 67 as their chief scorer in the 1st innings.
Rusiru Vilochana & Sadew Samarasinghe were able to give Nalanda a good start with half-centuries. Eranga Jayakodi batted brilliantly for his unbeaten 93, eyeing a sensational hundred. At the close of play on day 1, Nalanda College raced to 324/7 in 55 overs.
