Three two-day encounters in the U19 Schools Cricket Tournament were held today (22nd February) in Dombagoda, Wattala & Colombo.
A traditional encounter between Richmond College and Dharmasoka College came to an end today at SLAOC International Cricket Stadium in Dombagoda.
Richmond College took a huge 1st innings lead, bowling out the opposition batters for 93 runs after declaring on 311/6.
Once again, the Dharmasoka batters put on a rather poor batting performance in the 2nd innings, after following on, as they were all out for 87 runs, giving Richmond College a massive victory. Yuri Koththigoda picked up 5/26.
The Tier ‘B’ 2-day encounter between Zahira College and Dharmapala College was held today at Zahira College Grounds in Colombo.
Dharmapala College didn’t allow the Zahira batters to score freely as they were blown away for only 103 runs. In reply, Dharmapala College posted 186 for their 1st innings and in the end, that was enough for an innings win with Zahira College departing for 82 runs.
Nulan Seneviratne got 5 scalps to help the visiting team to clinch the game by an innings & 1 run.
