Another important quarter-final clash of the ongoing U19 Schools Cricket Tournament ended today at Thurstan College Grounds in Colombo.

Thurstan College bowled out this morning for 141 as they fell 6 runs short of St. Aloysius’ first innings score. Skipper Shanikya Deshapriya was their top scorer with a 27-run knock. In the bowling department, Oshada Devinda & Kavindu Kesara shared 7 wickets between them.

Charya Paranavithana, Bhashana De Silva & Hasitha Suranga, who were the top three batted well in the St. Aloysius 2nd innings with all of them scoring fifties. When the match ended in a draw, They were on 232/4 with the first innings win they’ve qualified for the semi-finals.

In the other traditional matches, St. Sylvester’s Akila Wickramasinghe registered fifers in both innings while St. Anthony’s Shan Samaradivakara stroked fifties in both innings & St. Anthony’s skipper Amitha Sandeepa blasted an unbeaten 54-ball 88 with 15 fours and 2 sixes.
