St. Anthony’s College, Wattala recorded an easy win over St. Servatius’ College, Matara in the Tier B game of the Schools U19 Limited Overs Tournament held today at Wattala, while four more traditional matches were worked off today around the Isle.

St. Anthony’s College registered a comprehensive 169-run victory over St. Servatius College in the only Tier B game held today in the U19 Schools Limited Overs Tournament.
Former Sri Lanka U19 middle order batsman Avishka Tharindu used his experience gained on an international stage to score a brilliant match-winning century for St. Anthony’s College.
It was followed by an exceptional bowling display from the off-spinner Romesh Suranga, who picked up a 6-wicket haul for just 36 runs.

Alll four traditional encounters held today ended in draws, with some significant individual performances from several players. Royal College opening batsman Isiwara Dissanayaka’s century was the standout performance with the bat for the day.
Dissanayake played a patient knock for Royals with an unbeaten 102 runs off 299 balls with 5 four and a six. The opposition’s skipper Dunith Wellalage continued his good form with the ball this season taking another 5-wicket haul for Joes.
In addition to them, Sheran Fonseka of St. Joseph’s College, Nipunaka Fonseka of St. Peter’s College, Janith Kaushalya of Richmond College, Thenuka Perera of Wesley College, Chakila Perera and Avishka Fernando of St. Sebastian’s College stood out with the bat scoring half centuries.
