Royal College, Colombo (Tier A) and De Mazenod College, Kandana (Tier B) booked their spots in the Semi Finals of the Under-19 Division 1 Limited Overs Tournament 2025/26, following commanding victories in their respective quarter-final encounters played today (October 8).
At the Royal College Grounds, Colombo, the home team produced a clinical all-round performance to overcome St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa.
After winning the toss, St. Sebastian’s opted to bat first and were bowled out for 213 runs. No. 3 batter Meshone Ferdinando top-scored with a composed 62 off 79 balls, including 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.

In reply, Royal College made light work of the chase, cruising to victory by 7 wickets with 6.2 overs to spare. Opener Rehan Peiris set the tone with a fluent 75 off 65 deliveries (7 fours, 3 sixes), while Vimath Dinsara anchored the innings with an unbeaten 53 off 63 balls featuring 5 boundaries.
Meanwhile, at the Uyanwatta Grounds, Matara, De Mazenod College dominated proceedings against St. Thomas’ College, Matara to record a comfortable 8-wicket win.
Having chosen to bat first, the Thomians were bundled out for 159 runs, as Sharith Sudeena (4/30) and Sanidu Nimalsha (3/39) ripped through the batting lineup with excellent spells.

Chasing a modest target, De Mazenod made quick work of the total, reaching it with only two wickets down. Sharith Sudeena continued his dream day with the bat, smashing a blistering 87 off 57 balls studded with 6 fours and 6 sixes. His opening partner Ushan Adithya also chipped in with a well-compiled half-century to seal the win in style.
