Tuskers take on the Volcanoes

110

Sri Lanka rugby will host their last match in the Asian 5 Nations (A5N) against the Philippines this Saturday at the Race Course grounds under lights @ 6.30 p.m. According to the new format next year both these teams will be competing against each other in 2015 A5N in the Division 1 category.

Next year these two teams will be familiar foes, however, it will be a very important match to end this year in a winning note against an equally matched side the Philippines. Last week Tuskers got hammered from the mighty Japan to three figure score of 132 – 10. Once again Danushka Ranjan on show to score another try after scoring against Hong Kong and surely he will remember this year’s A5N for a long time. However, it was a good experience playing with a team like Japan.

Volcanoes on the other hand went down 99 – 10 against Japan and 108 – 00 to Hong Kong and the match against Korea is due next week. Sri Lanka and Philippines last played each other in 2012 A5N division 1 and Philippines won by 28 – 18.
