Visakha strikes back to secure primacy

After 98 events of the 47th Annual Sri Lanka Schools All Island Age Group Aquatic Championships 2022, the Visakhians and Joes swimming teams are leading the score standings.

Visakha Swimming had a drawback on the 1st day of the competition, finishing overall 6th. Despite this, they took over day 02, finishing 1st with 112 points. As the events of Junior age groups came to an end and with the start of Senior events, Visakhians maintained their primacy with 190 points in hand on day 03. Meanwhile, their rival Mahamaya now stands 2nd in line with 140.50 points, not failing to keep an eye on the crown.

The Josephians are escalating the dominance gained on day 01, making it close to a 100-point difference from the rest of the schools. They will start day 04 in possession of 335 points. The Peterites stand next in line with 242 points.

  • Jessie Senevirathne of Holy Family Convent – Girls Under 16 50m Freestyle – 29.92 sec.
  • Hiruki De Silva of Gateway International School – Girls Under 20 50m Freestyle – 28.30 sec.
  • K. G. Silva of Ananda College – Boys Under 20 50m Freestyle – 24.47 sec.
  • Amaan Hamidon of Wesley College – Boys Under 20 100m Breaststroke – 1:10.73
