St.Sebastian’s College Moratuwa was the final team to qualify to the quarter finals of the U13 division 1 tournament. Having batted first after winning the toss the Sebastian batsmen managed to pile up 187 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 55 overs. Nihalsha Perera top scored with a brisk 39 runs while Dilakshan Fernando and Thihalsha Mendis together with Ruwaneth Kumaradasa managed to contribute with twenties to the total. In the bowling department Shenuk Serasinghe picked up 3 wickets for just 21 runs for the Joes.
In reply to the Sebastians’ total St. Joseph’s College just managed 135 runs before being dismissed in 35.1 overs. Gagon Chamod and Patterson Leon made 37 and 33 respectively while only Yevin Athukorala also contributed with 24 runs to the total. Tyrel Baskeran picked up 4 for 44 runs while his counter-parts Nadeesh Fernando and Yenul Hemachandra picked 3 wickets each.
