Kavindu Cooray opened up scoring for Science College as he went through two Peterite defenders to score under the sticks and take a surprising lead and Science College kept their lead at half time.

Two try scoring opportunities were missed by Yashoda Mendis as his grounding of the ball on the try line was deemed as a knock forward by the Referee. But Mendis was third time lucky as he went through the Science defence and touched down in the corner as the score stood as 7-5 in favour of Science College but Thenuka Nanayakkara made a peach of a conversion from the touch line to equalize the game as it moved towards sudden death.
