St. Joseph’s College had to work hard to come from behind to pull off a win against Science College in the Under14 match played at the CR&FC Grounds, Colombo.

The hosts were handed a shock start when science College struck first blood and converted a penalty to get the first points of the game. The Joesephian youngsters were seemingly awoken by the early breach and looked to respond, but the Science youngsters held on defensively to end the first half with a 3-0 lead.

The second half kicked off with Joes going on the attack seemingly determined to turn the game around. It paid off when the Joes youngsters took the lead with a well worked try, but they failed to increase their advantage when they failed to convert.

The Josephians continued to dominate and minutes before full time a good run saw them break through the Science defense and over the line for their second try to extend their lead and secure the victory.
