SSC draw against NCC

SSC batted out for a draw against NCC in their Premier League cricket encounter concluded at the SSC ground yesterday.

Despite a healthy first innings lead of 279, hosts refused to enforce the follow-on and batted through 52 overs collecting 232 runs for the loss of nine wickets. This gave a huge but  unrealistic target of 512 for NCC to chase down in 8 overs.

Ports Authority nearly take down Chilaw Marians

Ports Authority missed a great opportunity to shock the star-studded Chilaw Marians as they ran out of overs chasing a simple victory target of 49 in their Premier League cricket encounter at Braybrook Place yesterday. At stumps Ports Authority were 18 for one in two overs. Earlier Muthumudalige Pushpakumara hit a masterful 122 not out to help  Ports Authority to a commanding 356 in reply to Marians first innings score of 140 all out.

Pabasara Waduge hits 107 for Baduraliya

Opener Pabasara Waduge hit 107 with 12 boundaries and a six as Baduraliya SC came back strongly in the second innings to draw with Navy in their Premier League cricket encounter concluded at Kalutara yesterday. Chasing 159 to win, Navy were 1 for no loss.

Navy SC: 358 in 107 overs (Gayas Christopher 61, Ranil Rasanga 144, Yohan Kumara 52, Roshan Illeperuma 4 for 84, Saliya Silva 3 for 100) and one for no loss.
