In reply, Sri Lanka piled on the pressure with a dominant batting effort, declaring their innings at 335 for 7. Captain Rehan Peiris led from the front with a magnificent knock of 182 off 286 balls, studded with 17 fours and 2 sixes — a true captain’s innings that anchored the Sri Lankan total.
Supporting him was wicket-keeper batter Jason Fernando, who contributed a valuable 65 off 125 deliveries, helping the visitors establish a sizeable first-innings lead.
Bangladesh produced a stronger performance in their second innings, reaching 278, thanks largely to a superb century from wicket-keeper Sourav Karmakar, who scored 123 runs.
However, Sri Lanka’s bowling hero Himaru Deshan once again proved too good to handle. Adding to his three wickets in the first innings, Deshan delivered a match-winning spell of 8 for 93, finishing with an outstanding 11-wicket haul for the match.
With just 66 runs needed for victory, Sri Lanka chased down the target with ease, losing only one wicket on their way to a comfortable win.
