The Sri Lanka blind cricket team defeated blind cricket world champions India by 7 wickets in the second match of the 3 match series and clinched the one day series with one more game to be played.

The start of the match was delayed due to rain and umpires had to reduce the match to 20 overs as a significant amount of time was wasted due to rain interruptions. Sri Lanka skipper Chandana Sooriyarachchi won the toss and elected to field first in the rain affected match at BRC Cricket Ground.

India blind cricket team posted 195 runs for 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Skipper Ajay Reddy top scored with 66 runs while all-rounder Sunil Ramesh contributed with a valuable 59 runs for the visitors. Chasing 196 runs to win, Sri Lanka got off to a flying start as the opening batsman Ajith Silva stroked his second half-century in the tournament scoring an unbeaten 90 runs. Middle order batsman Sahan Kumara also chipped in with a wonderful half century to guide Sri Lanka to victory.  

Sri Lanka chased down the target in 17.2 overs with 7 wickets remaining and recorded their first ever series win against world champions India. Sri Lanka’s top order batsman Ajith Silva was named as the Man of the Match.
