The Sri Lanka National Cricket Selection Committee has announced the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming Sri Lanka Tour of Pakistan 2025, which includes a three-match ODI series and a T20I Tri-Series featuring Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Zimbabwe.
All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who missed the recent ODI series against Zimbabwe, returns to the ODI squad, bolstering Sri Lanka’s spin and lower-order depth. Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka, initially named in the ODI lineup, has been ruled out due to a knee injury. Young fast bowler Eshan Malinga has been called up as his replacement.
In the T20I setup, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, the explosive left-hander, makes a comeback after a lengthy absence as the selectors aim to strengthen the middle order. Former white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka has been appointed vice-captain of the T20I side, offering valuable leadership support to current captain Charith Asalanka.
On the bowling front, Matheesha Pathirana, who was initially named in the T20I squad, has been withdrawn as he continues to recover from an Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI). Asitha Fernando will replace him in the touring party.
The ODI series will be played from 11th to 15th November in Rawalpindi, followed by the T20I Tri-Series from 17th to 29th November, hosted across the Rawalpindi and Gaddafi Cricket Stadiums. The Sri Lankan team is scheduled to depart for Pakistan on November 8.
All matches will be telecast LIVE & EXCLUSIVELY on Sri Lanka’s No.1 Sports Channel — ThePapare 1 & ThePapare 1 HD (Dialog Television Ch. 62 & 126), and will also be available on the Dialog ViU+ App and ThePapare.com.
