The 2nd day of the 2nd Youth Test between Sri Lanka U19 and India U19 got underway today at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, Hambantota.
It was another day dominated by the visitors as they went onto post 613 for the 1st inning. They added 185 more runs to their overnight score of 428/4 losing just 4 more wickets.

The 2 overnight batsman for India added 139 runs to their huge partnership before Nehal Wadhera was bowled to Kalana Perera delivery on 64. The 5th wicket partnership between Wadhera and Pawan Shah was worth 160.
While Ayush Badoni, a centurion in the previous game couldn’t score more than a single run today Pavan Shah went onto register a magnificent double-hundred. He eventually was run out as the last wicket of the mammoth Indian inning.
Son of Sachin Tendulkar, fast-bowler Arjun Tendulkar also chipped in with 18 useful runs for his team. He was the 3rd run-out victim of the Indian team out of a total of 4 run-outs.
In reply the hosts lost early wickets. The first 3 wickets fell with the score just on 34. Mohit Jangra who took a fifer in the previous game was responsible for all the 3 early wickets which made life very hard for the Lankans.
Pasindu Sooriyabandara steered the Lankan inning by being part of 2 valuable partnerships. He started his inning, pairing with opening batsman Kamil Mishara for a 57-run 4th wicket partnership. Mishara unfortunately missed a well-made fifty as he was bowled by Siddharth Desai for 44.
Sonal Dinusha (24) remained unbeaten along with Sooriyabandara (51) as the duo saw through the final overs of the day. Sri Lanka will resume tomorrow on 140/4 with the 5th wicket partnership between Dinusha and Sooriyabandara unbeaten on 49.
