Championship hunting Air Force SC, Renown SC and Solid SC recorded commanding 3-0 wins while Java Lane earned a much needed point against Navy SC in the Dialog Champions League 2016 week 3 encounters.

Air Force strikers on target

The three Air Force strikers were on target as the hosts recorded a 3-0 win against Thihariya Youth at the Air Force grounds in Ekala.

Skipper Kavindu Ishan scored the opener as early as in the 5th minute while DK Duminda made it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Four minutes before half time Nipuna Bandara scored making it 3-0.

However neither side was able to score in the 2nd half.

Java Lane earned a point against Navy SC with a 1-1 draw at the Navy grounds in Welisara.

It was goalless at half time but 5 minutes into the 2nd half Chathuranga Sanjeewa scored for the hosts. However Java Lane fought till the end and with two minutes to go Janaka Chaminda equalized much to the delight of the visitors.

Renown triumphant in New Youngs den

Renown SC repeated another win at the Sir.Albert F.Peiris grounds to down New Youngs 3-0 as they did in the FA Cup Pre-Quarter finals a few weeks back.

Renown led 2-0 at half time through a Job Michael goal in the 22nd minute and Mohamed Rifnaz goal in the 41st minute.

Michale would add another on the hour mark to complete a comfortable win.

10 man Solid stun Crystal Palace

Solid SC who played the whole of 2nd half with 10 men outwitted and outclassed the visiting Crystal Palace FC to win 3-0 at the Prison grounds in Anuradhapura.

Solid scored through Thakshila Danoj in the 36th minute before Amith Kumara was red carded on the stroke of half time.

Solid playing to a plan frustrated Crystal Palace and caught them napping on the counter attack as Danoj added another two goals in the 74th and 83rd minutes.
