Tanvir is the second foriegn player, taking part in the LPL, to have contracted the virus. Canadian cricketer Ravinderpal Singh who is set to represent Colombo Kings in the tourney was tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday and is also isolated along with few other players who were on the same flight he arrived. Superstar Andre Russell was also among them.

It is very likely that most of these players might miss the first few games depending on their subsequent PCR test results.

“All the necessary measures are being taken by the health authorities regarding Sohail Tanvir.” Kandy Tuskers Team Director Farveez Maharoof confirmed to ThePapare.com.

If a player is tested positive, that particular player will be isolated at a SLC-run Quarantine Center for 10 days and on the 10th day, only if he is tested negative can he rejoin the bubble.

Former Indian seamer Munaf Patel is set to join the Kandy Tuskers team soon while Chris Gayle’s replacement is still undecided.

These obstacles will burden the already troubled lead up to the tournament. LPL is scheduled to kick off on the 26th of November.
